Explore Asgard Mountain and unlock its vehicles

Reach the Tunnel to Asgard Mountain in Gimli Ridge to unlock the area, then establish cabin stops and complete the challenge trails that award its vehicles. Asgard Mountain is the final Canadian area, with the Tunnel to Gimli Ridge providing the way back.

02

Reach the mountain and prepare your vehicle

  1. Reach Ferry to the Ridge in Emerald Lake to open Gimli Ridge. Use this connection to advance along the Canadian route toward Asgard Mountain.
  2. Reach the Tunnel to Asgard Mountain in Gimli Ridge to unlock Asgard Mountain. Passing through brings you to the Tunnel to Gimli Ridge on the mountain side.
  3. Visit Shaughnessy Cabin, Asgard Mountain's starting cabin, to establish a base for exploration. Cabins repair your vehicle, restore equipped tools, reveal nearby points of interest and unlock fast travel.
  4. Visit Crazy Günther to change vehicles, buy upgrades, customize your ride and choose tools. Your first Mechanic visit in the area also awards 10 Pebbles.

For a co-op trip, bring every player close to the portal before travelling through it. If you join a room in an area you have not unlocked, that session cannot unlock new areas, although progress is still saved. Open your own Canadian route before relying on a friend's room for area progression.

03

Choose a trail by its vehicle reward

Choose a trail by the vehicle you want to add to your garage. Finishing the matching trail unlocks that vehicle, while later completions provide repeat Pebbles without repeating the vehicle unlock. For a cosmetic detour, Wakefield Switchback Climb awards the Bald Eagle Horn.

Use Low Range on rough ground or uphill for traction, then switch back to High Range on regular terrain. If your vehicle gets stuck, aim the camera toward a suitable anchor and use the winch. The manual winch lets you choose the attachment point on your vehicle and the object to connect.

04

Use cabins to extend your trip

Asgard Mountain has 9 cabins, with Shaughnessy Cabin serving as its starting cabin. Your checklist also includes Crossroads Shelter, Eagle Perch Cabin, Gods’ Rest, Mjoll Basin Lodge, Ridgeline Rest, Rock Cradle Cabin, Similkameen Lodge and Twin Pools Cabin. Each listed cabin provides a respawn point and a 10-Pebble reward.

Make a newly discovered cabin the anchor for your next outing. Consider reaching another cabin before committing to a long chain of optional detours, especially when your tools are running low. Rest at a cabin to advance time, or select a discovered cabin on the map when you need to respawn and regroup.

05

Complete the mountain's item recoveries

Asgard Mountain's item recoveries are Midgar Way Recovery and Upland Carmanah Recovery. Each recovery begins with a damaged vehicle that must be brought to its end point. Pick the cosmetic you want, then plan the delivery around your available recovery equipment.

  1. Bring the damaged vehicle from Midgar Way Recovery's start to its end point to earn Skis & Snowboards and Skis & Snowboards (Bed).
  2. Bring the damaged vehicle from Upland Carmanah Recovery's start to its end point to earn the Hot Dog cosmetic.
06

Choose scenic stops and crate detours

Asgard Mountain has 8 scenic points and 15 crates to fold into your route. Use the scenic list to pick a destination between trail attempts. Photo Mode can be opened at a scenic point when you want to compose a landscape shot.

Scenic pointReward
Bighorn Lake15 Pebbles
Eaglewing Ridge15 Pebbles
Headless Valley15 Pebbles
Heimdall Eye15 Pebbles
Jormungandr’s Coil15 Pebbles
Niflhel Bath15 Pebbles

Rock Cradle Weather Station15 Pebbles

For crate detours, the Bear Plushie, Ice Picks and Traction Boards crates each give their named cosmetic and 5 Pebbles. Approach a crate to discover its contents, then visit the Mechanic to customize your vehicle. Choose detours for items you actually want so the collection hunt stays manageable.

07

Add meteorites and wildlife to your outing

Meteorite markers identify possible spawn locations; they do not guarantee a rock is currently present. Use the Meteorite Radar or watch for the glow at night to find a fallen rock. Check its in-game crew requirement before attempting extraction.

Asgard Mountain lists 10 wildlife species, giving you photography objectives alongside its driving activities. Use the Safari Camera to photograph animals for the Compendium, keeping the subject centered, unobscured and at a suitable distance. Leave room for these stops while travelling between cabins and trails.

08

Plan where to go after Asgard Mountain

Asgard Mountain is the last area in the Canadian sequence, so use the Tunnel to Gimli Ridge when you want to head back. Algeria's starting area, Tassili n'Ajjer Desert, is available from the start of the game. To open the next Algerian area, reach the Tunnel to the Aurès Mountains in the desert.
