Unlock The Cumbre at Jazira Ascent
Unlock The Cumbre in Over the Hill by completing Jazira Ascent in the Aurès Mountains, Algeria's second area. The first-completion reward includes The Cumbre and 40 Pebbles.
Reach the Aurès Mountains from the desert
Tassili n'Ajjer Desert is open from the start, so you can begin this unlock route in Algeria without completing Canada's areas. Your destination in the desert is the Tunnel to the Aurès Mountains exit portal. Reaching it opens Aurès Mountains, where Jazira Ascent awards The Cumbre.
Porte du Désert Camp is the starting cabin for Tassili n'Ajjer Desert, while El Madraj Base Camp is the starting cabin for Aurès Mountains. These names can help you orient yourself as you change areas. If you are travelling with friends, bring everyone close to the portal before trying to pass through.
How to reach and unlock The Cumbre
- Reach the Tunnel to the Aurès Mountains in Tassili n'Ajjer Desert. This exit portal opens Aurès Mountains, giving you access to the area containing The Cumbre's unlock trail.
- Travel through the portal into Aurès Mountains. You arrive at Tunnel to the Desert, the return connection to Tassili n'Ajjer Desert.
- Find Jazira Ascent in Aurès Mountains. Use that exact trail name as your target: completing Jazira Ascent is what unlocks The Cumbre.
- Complete Jazira Ascent to earn The Cumbre and its first-completion Pebble reward. The vehicle and 40 Pebbles are the rewards to look for after finishing.
- Select The Cumbre at the Mechanic after unlocking it. The Mechanic lets you change vehicles, so you can try your new reward before deciding which upgrades to buy.
Plan for the Jazira Ascent climb
Jazira Ascent contains 27 checkpoints across an approximately 1,457-metre route with 171 metres of ascent. Make the climb your main objective if you want to concentrate on unlocking The Cumbre. Before setting off, repair your vehicle and check the recovery equipment you have equipped.
Use Low Range when your vehicle struggles on slopes or rough terrain, then return to High Range on regular ground. The default range-toggle control is Tab on keyboard, X on an Xbox controller or Square on a PlayStation controller. Get comfortable switching ranges before committing to a difficult approach.
Choose your equipped tools at the Mechanic before leaving. Cabins repair your vehicle, restore equipped tools and reveal nearby points of interest, making them useful stops while exploring the area. If an approach goes badly, reassess your route and equipment before forcing the same obstacle again.
The Cumbre's characteristics
The Cumbre is a Wagon with a cargo bed. Its size and equipment give you concrete points to compare with your current vehicle before making Jazira Ascent your next destination. Prioritize the unlock if that vehicle style appeals to you, then judge its handling on familiar ground before taking it somewhere demanding.

| Wheel radius | 0.44 metres |

Budget for The Cumbre after unlocking it
Taking The Cumbre from stock to all its maximum performance-upgrade stages costs 675 Pebbles. Upgrades are purchased for individual vehicles, and each later stage requires the preceding stage on that vehicle. Keep a separate budget for The Cumbre if you have already invested heavily in another vehicle.
Jazira Ascent also pays 8 Pebbles per repeat completion, while its vehicle unlock does not repeat. If you enjoy the route and can finish it reliably, returning gives you another way to earn toward upgrades. Choose repeat runs based on how comfortably you complete the trail rather than its payout alone.
Start with the limitation you actually notice while driving The Cumbre. Its tire upgrades improve grip, suspension upgrades increase height, winch upgrades extend reach and tool-slot upgrades let you carry more tools. Buy around the trips you want to make, then reassess after trying the change.
