Tassili n'Ajjer Desert at a Glance
Tassili n'Ajjer Desert has 5 challenge trails, 7 item recoveries, 21 crates, 10 cabins and 14 scenic landmarks. The complete table below lists their names, rewards and services, including the trails that unlock Das Wombat, The Woodman, The Marshal and The Boar.
The desert is Algeria's starting area and is available from the start. Your starting cabin is Porte du Désert Camp. Aurès Mountains is a separate area, opened by reaching Tunnel to the Aurès Mountains.

Match the full destination name before choosing a stop. El Kalaa North Ascent and El Kalaa South Ascent unlock different vehicles, while Sama el Sakhr Camp and the Sama el Sakhr scenic point are separate destinations. Each recovery has a damaged vehicle at its start and a matching end point where you must deliver it.

Find Desert Routes and Travel to Aurès Mountains
- Open the map with M on keyboard, View on an Xbox controller or Create on a PlayStation controller to inspect your current area.
- Find Porte du Désert Camp on the Tassili n'Ajjer Desert map to orient yourself at the desert's starting cabin.
- Visit an undiscovered cabin to reveal nearby points of interest and unlock another fast travel point.
- Place a pin on your chosen desert destination with the left mouse button, A on Xbox or Cross on PlayStation to mark your next stop.
- Reach Tunnel to the Aurès Mountains to open Aurès Mountains, Algeria's next area.
- Bring every player close to the portal so your group can travel through it together.
- Use Tunnel to the Desert in Aurès Mountains when you want to return to Tassili n'Ajjer Desert.
Check Which Side of the Tunnel You Need
Stay on the Tassili n'Ajjer Desert area when searching for Shabah Ascent, Tarfa Ascent, La Cathédrale Climb or either El Kalaa ascent. Ukhtayn Route, Mahrouqa West Track, Kalaa Ulya Track and Jazira Ascent belong to Aurès Mountains. If your target has one of those mountain names, use the tunnel connection and plan your search in Aurès Mountains.
Use Camps and Services Between Objectives
Cabins repair your vehicle, restore equipped tools and reveal nearby points of interest. If a trip leaves you stuck, select a discovered cabin on the map to respawn. Visit Crazy Günther when you want to change vehicles, choose tools or spend Pebbles on upgrades before another trail.
Vehicle unlocks do not repeat, but the vehicle trails in the table also have repeat Pebble rewards. If later completions fail to pay, update the game: a post-launch update fixed repeat trail and recovery rewards. Meteorite positions were also adjusted, so use an updated map for a meteorite detour.
