Complete Mahrouqa West Track to Unlock Das Lynx
Unlock Das Lynx by completing Mahrouqa West Track in Aurès Mountains, the second area of Algeria. The first-clear reward is Das Lynx and 40 Pebbles.
Reach Aurès Mountains and Earn the Vehicle
- Begin your approach in Tassili n'Ajjer Desert. This starting area of Algeria is available from the start and contains the portal leading onward to Aurès Mountains.
- Reach the Tunnel to the Aurès Mountains in Tassili n'Ajjer Desert. Reaching this exit portal opens Aurès Mountains, giving you access to the area containing the Das Lynx unlock trail.
- Travel through the tunnel into Aurès Mountains. You arrive at the Tunnel to the Desert, which serves as the return portal toward Tassili n'Ajjer Desert.
- Complete Mahrouqa West Track in Aurès Mountains. Finishing this challenge trail unlocks Das Lynx and earns its first-clear reward.
- Visit the Mechanic after unlocking Das Lynx. You can change vehicles there and access upgrades, customization and tool choices before taking your new vehicle out.
Mahrouqa West Track Length and Rewards
Mahrouqa West Track has 29 checkpoints along an approximately 1,450-metre reference route, with 123 metres of ascent. Check your equipment before starting and give yourself time to assess the ground ahead. Focus on a controlled finish as you work toward the vehicle reward.
Mahrouqa West Track pays 8 Pebbles per repeat completion. If you enjoy the route, you can return to earn more currency for upgrades after unlocking Das Lynx. Choose a trail you can finish reliably when deciding how to fund your next purchase.
Prepare Your Current Vehicle for the Trip
Use Low Range if your current vehicle struggles on rough terrain or a slope. The default Engage 4L/4H input is Tab on keyboard, X on an Xbox controller or Square on a PlayStation controller. Return to High Range on regular terrain when you want more speed.
Visit a discovered cabin before starting if you need repairs or fresh supplies. Cabins repair your vehicle, restore equipped tools and reveal nearby points of interest. If the approach goes badly and recovery tools cannot help, select a discovered cabin on the map to respawn.
Das Lynx Stats and Suspension Comparison
| Option | Details |
|---|---|
| Vehicle class | Das Lynx is a Trail-class vehicle. |
| Mass | 1,600 kg. |
| Base speed limit | 27 km/h. |
| Winch force | 25,000 N. |
| Wheel size | 0.40 metres. |
| Suspension travel | Das Lynx: 0.35 metres. The Brick and Das Wombat: 0.55 metres each. |
Das Lynx has less suspension travel than The Brick and Das Wombat. When choosing between them, consider the upgrades you already own as well as that difference. Try Das Lynx on familiar ground before committing your remaining Pebbles to it.
Das Lynx Engine Tiers
| Engine Tier | Torque and Engine Speeds |
|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 100 Nm peak torque; 750 idle RPM, 2750 peak RPM and 5000 maximum RPM. |
| Tier 2 | 106 Nm peak torque; 750 idle RPM, 2750 peak RPM and 5000 maximum RPM. |
| Tier 3 | 112 Nm peak torque; 750 idle RPM, 2750 peak RPM and 5000 maximum RPM. |
The Brick and Das Wombat have the same torque and RPM values at the corresponding engine tiers. If you already drive either vehicle, the engine figures give you a familiar point of comparison. Consider the suspension difference above when deciding which vehicle you want to develop further.
Choose Upgrades After the Unlock
Upgrades are purchased separately for each vehicle, and each stage requires the preceding stage on that vehicle. Taking Das Lynx through all its performance-upgrade stages costs 675 Pebbles. Plan your spending around the vehicle you intend to keep using.
Engine Stage 2 costs 25 Pebbles, and Engine Stage 3 costs 50 Pebbles. Engine upgrades increase power and allow a higher top speed. Consider them when you want more engine performance from Das Lynx.
For rough ground, consider tire upgrades for more grip and suspension upgrades for increased height. Protection upgrades increase damage resistance. Choose the improvement that addresses the difficulty you encounter most often, then try the vehicle again before buying more.
Tool Slot upgrades let you carry more tools, while winch upgrades increase winch range. Water Resistance upgrades increase the water depth and time the engine can withstand before flooding. Match these choices to the journeys you want to attempt with Das Lynx.
Customize Das Lynx and Unlock Special Liveries
Regular liveries are free at the Mechanic. Das Lynx also has special-livery distance targets at 50 km, 100 km and 150 km, driven in Das Lynx itself. Distance counts while at least one wheel touches the ground, in increments of 50 m.
